Radio Free Berlin School

The Berlin School is electronic music built on the sequencer: long, hypnotic pieces of pulsing patterns, slowly opening filters and melodies drifting over the top. It was born in West Berlin's underground at the turn of the 1970s with Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ash Ra Tempel, and taken up since by generations of synthesists all over the world, from the cassette and festival scene of the 80s and 90s to the artists pushing it forward today.

Radio Free Berlin School is being built as a home for that music: an encyclopaedia of its artists, records and scenes, a guide for new listeners, and DJ sets that move between the classic records and today's.
